King rich mini album 5 release date announced
07/9/2008

On the Friday 26th September at 6.59pm at Kidderminster Town Hall, King Rich will be releasing his fifth self penned mini album entitled ‘T’ Travellin Sound Circus’, which features 6 of King Rich’s latest Summery sounding recordings. The third track on the album – ‘Busy’, exemplifies KR’s experimental nature, as the track features, as King Rich puts it, his ‘orchestra of the garden’.

King Rich:-

“‘Busy’ is all about not being busy at all - giving up work and so forth, so you can just relax and enjoy life. It has quite an unusual overall sound as the track has many garden style noises in it. The percussion section has me playing plant pots, and sweeping a broom in time to the song. Also captured are aeroplanes flying over, the rustling leaves of the trees in the breeze, and birds tweeting away in and out of tune in the dense background. The track sounds off the wall, and it certainly delivers new dimensionary edges to the album.”

All King Rich merchandise is available from the online shop.

Kidderminster Music Festival
03/9/2008

Tickets have recently gone on sale for Kidderminster Music Festival 2008, where King Rich is set to play twice, with performances on Friday 26th September and Monday 29th September - helping to raise money for The Proton Effect and Spinal Research charities.

For more information regarding the festival and to purchase tickets for any of the days, please visit www.kidderocks.com.

King Rich, who travelled over 10, 000 miles last year gigging in the UK, believes this year’s festival will be the best Kidderminster Music Festival has been, for many years.

King Rich:-

“It is exciting times for Kidderminster, with a real community based 5 day festival about to take place. It will be raising money for important charities and it is paramount that Kidderminster shows it's support with a healthy turnout and makes it an event to live in the memory. I’m really looking forward to playing two events, as it’s special for me to play my material to an audience in the town I’ve grown up in.”

King Rich: Children With Leukaemia Charity Event
26/3/2008

Alternative acoustic musician, King Rich, has announced his latest charity endeavour - to raise money for Children with Leukaemia. The event will take place at Kidderminster Town Library on Monday 31st March 2008. Supporting artists playing on the night include Joe Savage, Becca, The Backs and Seven Days, and is the 1st King Rich charity event of the year.

King Rich has recently performed on Sky Channel - Red TV. King Rich performed 3 songs in front of the cameras - all of which made the final cut, and the show has been televised 3 times since filming took place back in January of this year.

King Rich:-

“I had less than 24 hours notice to prepare for the TV performance; it was a last minute thing, and it was set up for me through MAS Records. I ended up playing 3 of my own songs at the TV shoot … Hang On my Sweetheart, U Don’t Understand My Heart Anymore and Suicide, and feel it went well. I’ve been analyzing my music and performance under the guillotine of the live UK circuit over the past 5 solid years, so I was well honed for the challenge. You’ve got to be pretty impassive most of the time, and know how to volcanically shoot up the gears - from 0 to 5 in the blink of an eyeball.”

CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA were inaugurated on 12 January 1988 by Princess Diana. She continued to offer her support and encouragement of the charity’s work until her untimely death in 1997. Children with Leukaemia are the UK's leading charity dedicated exclusively to fighting Britain's biggest childhood cancer. Leukaemia is a cancer of the blood. It is the most common childhood cancer. Children under the age of five are at great risk; this age group accounts for more than half of all cases.

Past King Rich charity events over the past 3 years have grossed over £1, 000 for various charities. King Rich is currently looking for a sponsor for the charity nights to cover the room hire, thereafter enabling the charities to receive larger cash donations. He hopes the latest charity night has a healthy attendance.

King Rich:-

“It pleases me greatly that the event has kept ticking and tallying decent cash totals for its previous respective charities. There have been some great performances from the local musician’s I’ve put on the bill in the past, and it’s been a great local effort in general. It’s an event worth supporting if you have the evening free, as not only may you hear a great underground performer, but each event is consistently raising valuable cash for important charities.”

All 4 King Rich Mini Albums plus other merchandise will be available on the night with 20% of all King Rich merchandise profits going to the Children with Leukemia appeal. Tickets for the event are £2, and are available from the Town Library, or £3 admission on the night, with all ticket proceeds going towards Children with Leukemia.

19/11/2007

Cult Underground Music Artist, King Rich, will be playing at Kidderminster Town Library on Monday 26th November 2007, to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation charity. Popular King Rich tracks featured on the album include Far Off Incident, Stop the Cold in My Heart and Me Devil - U Angel.

King Rich:-

“The album has taken me a while to assemble and assess. It’s a densely charismatic, artistic, atmospheric and emotional record which is acoustically based. I feel it will be received well by the media, radio, and most importantly, the public. The album has dark, ethereal undertones stretching throughout it, and may well leave listeners on a different planet! Over the past year, I’ve played towards 100 gigs, with much practice between the gigs. I’ve sculpted the tracks featured on the album into a very finalised and ‘enlivened’ form, placing a lot of unique King Rich ingredients into each individual track.”

King Rich, who supported The Levellers and Robert Plant a few years ago, and a former runner up in a national song writing competition, believes the charity event is a great showcase for local talent, and a superb platform for emerging talent.

King Rich:-

“The event has raised over £1, 000 for various charities over the last few years .If you have a passion for live music, this event is a complete winner - for people young, old and everything in between! There’s nothing like a King Rich charity event to sweep away the merry cobwebs of life! ”

"King Rich Charity Event Smashes £1, 000 Barrier!!" - 16/04/2007

Acoustic singer songwriter, King Rich, played a ninth charity event at Kidderminster Town Library on Monday 16th April 2007, raising money for the Worcestershire Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (W.R.S.A.S.C.). The event, sponsored by Priory Recording Studios in Sutton Coldfield, also featured acoustic performances from local artists Alex Reid, The Backs, Matt The Guitarist, Dan Haynes and Alanah Jones.

£216.07 was raised on the night and it proved to be the most lucrative charity event to date. The support centre has been operating continuously for over 20 years providing free, confidential and non-judgmental support services to women over the age of 16 in the Worcestershire area. Previous events at the library have raised funds for charities such as Cancer Research, Cerebral Palsy and the 3rd World.

King Rich:-

“It was the first of three charity events this year, and was a fantastic night, with all the artists putting in superb performances. I always felt the event provided a fantastic opportunity, not only for well established local musicians, but for young acts as a platform to emerge from. On the night, we had talent from King Charles I High School (The Backs), Kidderminster College (Dan Haynes & Alanah Jones) and Baxter College (Alex Reid & Matt The Guitarist), and it’s a fantastic achievement to surpass the cumulative £1, 000 barrier, since the series of charity events began back in March 2005. It not only highlights the great strength of Kidderminster’s music scene, but also the positivistic attitude of our community as a whole.”

"King rich set to headline at worcester festival " - 20/04/2007

King Rich has been offered the opportunity to headline a night at a Worcester Festival on Friday 27th April 2007, and will be onstage around 7pm. The event is set to take place at Worcester Racecourse.

King Rich:-

“It's rare that an underground solo act is given the opportunity to headline and complete a night at a festival, as this slot is often allotted to a band. It's fantastic that the promoters have handed me the headline position, and I'm anticipating that my acoustic performance will be electrifying!”
